Martin Heckscher's practice consists of estate planning and trust and estate administration, with a special emphasis on fiduciary litigation. He is a nationally recognized authority on attorneys' fees and commissions in connection with the administration of trusts and estates. Martin is also co-author, with partner Margaret Sager, of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute's "Attorneys' Fees, Fiduciary Commissions and Costs,"the leading legal treatise on these issues related to trusts, estates, and guardianships in Pennsylvania. He frequently provides expert testimony in court cases involving fiduciary matters.

Martin has been listed as a leading trust and estate attorney by the Best Lawyers in America, Town & Country Magazine, Philadelphia's Best Lawyers, and Philadelphia Magazine.

His extensive civic service includes 25 years of board membership with the Philadelphia Orchestra. He is a former president of the Harvard University Alumni Association and served as a trustee of the Lindback Foundation and the Dolfinger-McMahon Foundation, and is currently a trustee of the Presser Foundation and board member of the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society and the Laurel Hill and West Laurel Hill Cemeteries.
